kA'RAMUU KUSH - Filmmaker - Renaissance Man

We just caught up with kA'RAMUU KUSH. Incredibly talented and equally as charismatic, he is definitely a "Real Gone Cat" by thatgirl006 standards. An accomplished actor, writer, director, producer... we are wondering if there is anything this Cat can't do.

A bit about his latest project:

SALVATION ROAD, starring Roger Guenveur Smith and Russell Hornsby, was a finalist in the HBO short film competition at the 2011 American Black Film Festival and was featured at the National Black Theater Festival this past week.

Business becomes unusual for an unsuspecting hitman when he senses that he has been witnessed executing his traitorous mentor by a 9-year old boy.

This man-about-town graciously took some time during a busy week shooting a documentary film, about the 2011 National Black Theater Festival in Winston Salem, North Carolina, to answer a few questions...

TG: Name one thing that you do very well but you enjoy the luxury of having someone do it for you.
KK: cook :-)

TG: What is something that Detroit, New York and LA have in common that surprised you.
KK: nothing. they're all distinctively different.

TG: What was the most natural aspect of making SALVATION ROAD? The most challenging?
KK: communication with talent and crew. making the violence empathetic.

TG: What was the event in your personal history that has influenced your work the most?
KK: my mother's passing. may her name prosper!

TG: Share something that you believed when you were very young that you have found to be true now that you're older and wiser?
KK: what's meant for you comes when you're ready.

TG: One film you wish you had made or could have been in.
KK: gordon park's shaft or spike's mo' better.

TG: Nas or Jay-Z?
KK: can't call it... they're both hood classics.

TG: Facebook or Twitter?
KK: don't use 'em enough to choose.

TG: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater or New York City Ballet?
KK: DEEPLY ROOTED. i would say COMPLEXIONS but they're too technical.

TG: Clark's or Timberlands?
KK: can't call it... they're both hood classics.

TG: Does your work leave you any time for romantic pursuits?
KK: My work is my romantic pursuit.

TG: Bonus question - Mad Men: Joan or Betty?
KK: don't know 'em.
TG: What?? Darling, we must work on this! ;-)
KK: sorry, i failed to get through the first episode.
