Garth Fagan Dance Company

An exclusive invitation from our friends at Garth Fagan Dance

Two World Premieres at
The Joyce Theatre

Tuesday through Sunday, October 5 - 9

Garth Fagan Dance invites friends of Evidence Dance to join them as the company caps off its 40th Anniversary celebration at

The Joyce this week. Internationally-acclaimed as founder of one of America's longest-established modern dance companies - and as the Tony Award-winning choreographer of the Broadway hit The Lion King - Garth is known for his singular style, a fusion of modern, ballet and Afro-Caribbean dance. The Joyce season boasts two World Premieres: Madiba, which Garth describes as "a love song to Nelson Mandela," paying homage to the South African leader's indomitable life force (Madiba is Mandela's Xhosa clan name); and Liminal Flux, choreographed by long-time company member Norwood Pennewell, with music by Miles Davis and Chancha Via Circuito. Also on view are revivals of some of Garth's greatest dances.
